I am sorry about your health issues. A similar thing happened to me. I was using the hook up a lot and I found out I was much happier and it made me really think about the "truth". It just amazes me how clear things are once you get away from all the nutty stuff.

Hi to all, new one here

been reading this forum for 2 years and this site has been great help for me.. currently my situation is difficult, im slowly fading and trying to make new friends outside jw.. i fear of losing many friends and family members, but i know that some point i just have to do it, its my life not theirs.. havent attendet meetings for 2 years now, life is better and instead waiting armageddon, im planning future to myself.
i will tell more about my situations when im ready for it.... .

Welcome! Less than a year ago my husband (he was an elder for years) and I were still going to meetings but I started to ask myself questions and I found a few books to read and that lead me to this site and JWfacts.com along with a few other sites. I then was able to get my husband to read Crisis of Conscience and after reading a few chapters he was out too. Keep searching and continue to read and you will find the answers you are looking for. I too wanted to hold on to "friendships" but once you start to fade those too will fade. I am making new friends and have also built a much stronger relationship with my family (they were never Witnesses). We are here if you need to talk.

i engaged them on the verandah hut politely explained that they'd caught us at a bad time as we were doing a big cleanup of the house.
the elders had even bought a pack of chocolate cookies around, so they were expecting to be invited in and offered coffee.

I haven't been able to stay up with all the posts and the last I heard he wasn't out but not real regular. It sounds like he is getting further away from the religion. I hope it is all working out for you. My husband followed me right on out which I am thankful for. You never know Julia, he may be one step away from leaving too!

Parents of Teens--I need encouragement
by love2Bworldly ini am really feeling down today, can't stop crying.
i just need some words of encouragement from other parents that i will survive my kids' teen years.
my 13 year old is trying to discover/find herself, has emotional issues--since birth, cuts/burns herself secretly--she is on prozac, in regular counseling, spent time last year in a physchiatric hospital, and just generally always has stomach aches or conflicts with other peers and is flunking math as usual as well as getting bad grades in citizenship lately.. my 17 year old son is on probation for being in a fight last fall, and does illegal stuff for cash.

Obviously you did a lot right!! Children can give us a run for our money but when you don't give up on them things usually work out. I am glad you have three wonderful children and a nice husband too!

Off to the Doctor.

i don't want to be a burdon to my mother, she has her own life to lead with her own responsibilities.
i've always been able to take care of everything for myself.

Loubelle, I am happy to hear you got the help you needed. I too have been through it and I know how scary it is and it can shut your life down in no time. It will take two to three weeks before you feel the meds working and hopefully they have the right combination for you. I was on them for close to 30 years and right before I left the oraginaziation I started switching off of them to a natural one and it has been very successful for me. I can honestly say that the religion was my biggest depressor and once I eliminated that from my life it changed so much for me. I hope you will get back to the things you enjoy in life real soon. I know you will feel like a new person once you have that imbalance corrected. It is amazing how different things will look to you once this happens. Don't give up if it isn't changing, it just means you don't have the correct meds for your body. Everyone is different and some people have to try a few before they find the right combinations. I am thinking of you!
